South Tyrol - Italy
The SK Südtirol is composed of the following organs:
There is a General Assembly of all the members once a year: The VOG and the VIP each have three votes. (The General Session is responsible, inter alia, for establishing the organization's powers and electing the members of the Executive Board, the President, the Vice-President, and the members of the Auditor's Board)
The Executive Board consists of the President, Georg Kössler (VOG), the Vice-President, Thomas Oberhofer (VIP), and three to seven members of the Executive Board – who are all elected by the General Session. The Executive Board elaborates, modifies, or approves the by-laws, prepares the balance, sets the annual dues and guarantees, recommends and decides on the selection and introduction of new varieties, and conducts the Consortium's business. At present, the Executive Board consists – besides the President and the Vice-President – of the following members: Harald Weis (VOG), Gerhard Dichgans (VOG), Martin Pinzger (VIP), and Theodor Grasser (VIP).
President Georg Kössler (VOG) represents the Consortium vis-à-vis third parties. If the President is not present or is hindered, the President is represented by the Vice-President.
Once a year, an auditor of the Raffeisenverband Südtirol Gen.m.b.H checks the proper adherence to principles of good accounting, the agreement of the balance-sheet and the profit and loss statement with the results of the books and accounting records, as well as compliance with regulations in accordance with Article 2426 of the Italian Civil Code Book.
Additionally, the Executive Board of the Variety Innovation Consortium has established a Variety Commission consisting of delegates from the two federations VIP and VOG, as well as three representatives each from the Laimburg Research Center and the South Tyrolean Extension Service for Fruit and Wine Growing.
The Variety Commission is a professional council which advises the Executive Board and which acts, more or less, as the Consortium's "Executive." Together with the SK office, it deals with tasks which the Consortium addresses and reports to it constantly about its activities.
